CVE-2021-20563Network attack vector

Authenticated filepath disclosure via crafted UI request

Published Sep 23, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Information disclosure in IBM Sterling File Gateway 2.2.0.0 through 6.1.0.3 allows remote authenticated users to reveal a server filepath. The File Gateway user interface returns a valid server filepath after processing a specially crafted request; IBM has not disclosed the endpoint or validation error. A valid account is required, and the disclosed path provides reconnaissance for further attacks without directly exposing file contents.
