CVE-2021-20378Network attack vector

Authenticated impersonation via stale logout session

Published Jul 7, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Insufficient session expiration in IBM Guardium Data Encryption 3.0.0.2 and 4.0.0.4 allows remote authenticated users to impersonate another user. The management service keeps a session valid after logout instead of invalidating its server-side token, allowing reuse of that token for another identity. Exploitation requires an authenticated account and access to the management interface; the record describes confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact without documenting unauthenticated access.
