Application crash via zero white-luminance divisor
Published May 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Divide-by-zero in ImageMagick before 7.0.11 allows remote attackers to crash image-processing applications via a crafted image. MagickCore/colorspace.c parses the image's white-luminance property as a double and passes zero into three divisions in ConvertXYZToJzazbz(). Exploitation requires an application to process the file and is limited to an availability loss from undefined behavior.
