Image-processing interruption via zero animation timescale
Published Mar 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Divide-by-zero in ImageMagick 6 before 6.9.11-62 and 7 before 7.0.10-62 allows local users to interrupt processing via crafted files. WriteAnimatedWEBPImage divides the frame delay by image->ticks_per_second without guarding against a zero timing value. Processing an attacker-supplied image whose animation timing sets that denominator to zero triggers undefined behavior, affecting availability without reported data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
