Application crash via ImplodeImage divide by zero
Published Mar 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Divide-by-zero in ImageMagick 7.0.10-62 allows context-dependent attackers to crash an image-processing application via a crafted image. ImplodeImage in MagickCore/visual-effects.c directly divides by zero-valued image dimensions, radius, or scaling factors instead of using PerceptibleReciprocal. The crafted file must be processed by a calling application, and successful triggering interrupts that process through undefined arithmetic behavior.
