Credential disclosure via default cleartext management interface
Published Dec 30, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cleartext transmission in the TRENDnet TEW-827DRU 2.08B01 web interface allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read credentials. The router exposes its management login over HTTP because HTTPS is disabled by default, sending passwords without transport encryption. An attacker must be able to observe traffic between an administrator's browser and the router; no integrity or availability impact is reported.
