Session takeover via IP-address-based authentication
Published Dec 30, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Authentication bypass in TRENDnet TEW-827DRU Firmware 2.08B01 allows remote attackers to take over an active management session. The management interface associates web sessions with source IP addresses instead of verifying client cookies or session tokens. Exploitation requires spoofing or taking over the authenticated user's IP address and exposes only the management privileges held by that session.
