CVE-2021-20113Network attack vector

Email enumeration via distinguishable reset responses

Published Jul 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Information disclosure in TCExam 14.8.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to enumerate registered email addresses through password resets. The public/code/tce_password_reset.php handler returned an unknown-email error only when the submitted address lacked an associated account. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the response difference reveals which email addresses belong to registered users.
