Information disclosure and water-control changes via unauthenticated BLE
Published Jun 30, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authentication in Sloan SmartFaucets and SOLIS Flushometers allows physically proximate attackers to read data and alter settings via BLE. The BLE GATT interface permits unauthenticated access to characteristics for device details, flow rate, sensor range, runtime, and water dispensing. Bluetooth proximity is required; writes can change water flow or sensor behavior, while reads expose device and maintenance information.
