Unauthenticated administrator password disclosure via exposed httoken
Published Apr 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper access control in Buffalo WSR-2533DHPL2 1.02 and earlier and WSR-2533DHP3 1.24 and earlier allows remote attackers to read admin passwords. The loginerror.html page exposes a valid httoken, and cgi/cgi_i_filter.js accepts that token and its Referer to return login_password in JavaScript configuration data. Network access to the router web interface is sufficient; the demonstrated request discloses the administrator password without altering configuration or interrupting service.
