Stored XSS via unvalidated asset IP address
Published Apr 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus before 11200 and AssetExplorer before 6800 allows remote attackers to inject JavaScript via XML. Asset discovery accepts an unvalidated ifconfig IP-address value and embeds it in the clickToExpandIP() JavaScript function on the asset detail page. No authentication is required to upload the XML, but an administrator must view the created asset before the script executes with that user's application privileges.
