CVE-2021-20075Public exploit

Privilege escalation via unrestricted configd interface

Published Feb 16, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Privilege escalation in RACOM M!DGE Firmware 4.4.40.105 allows local users with shell access to obtain administrative control via configd. The configd command-line interface is executable by any device user, exposing privileged operations that disclose other users' passwords, including the root password, and permit administrative configuration changes. Exploitation requires an existing low-privilege account with shell access to the router; the demonstrated consequence is credential disclosure and full administrative modification.
