Local out-of-bounds read via unchecked configuration length
Published Oct 20, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Buffer over-read in Qualcomm QVR Service configuration allows local users to read beyond a buffer on affected Snapdragon devices. The QVR Service configuration path processes supplied data without checking its length, so reading continues beyond the intended buffer boundary. Local access is required; Qualcomm has not disclosed whether the observed outcome is memory disclosure, a crash, or both.
