CVE-2021-1984

Buffer overflow via unchecked plugin-block index

Published Oct 20, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Integer wraparound in Qualcomm Snapdragon VR Service allows local users to trigger a buffer overflow via a crafted plugin block. The service processes a plugin-block index without adequate validation, allowing the index calculation to wrap and address memory outside the intended buffer. Local access to an affected chipset is required, and Qualcomm has not disclosed the exact code path or post-corruption behavior.
