CVE-2021-1965Network attack vector

Memory corruption via unchecked MBSSID element length

Published Jul 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Buffer overflow in Qualcomm Snapdragon WLAN firmware allows remote attackers to corrupt memory through a crafted MBSSID scan element. The scan parser copies an MBSSID information element without first checking its parameter length against the destination buffer. A target must receive and parse attacker-controlled MBSSID data during WLAN scanning; public vendor material does not distinguish code execution, data access, or service interruption.
