Buffer over-read in Qualcomm Snapdragon boot firmware allows physically proximate attackers to interrupt startup via a crafted splash image. The splash-image loader applies an incorrect overflow check before reading image data, permitting a read beyond the intended buffer boundary. Exploitation requires physical access to supply the image during boot and affects availability only; Qualcomm has not disclosed a more specific code locus.
