Arbitrary code execution via CoreText TTF parsing
Published Apr 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Apple CoreText on affected iOS, iPadOS, and macOS releases allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted TTF files. The TTF parser writes crafted font data past the end of an allocated data structure. Exploitation requires a user or application to process the file through CoreText and executes code in the current process context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
