Code execution via out-of-bounds USD parsing write
Published Sep 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Apple Model I/O before iOS 14.4, iPadOS 14.4, and macOS 11.2 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code. The Model I/O framework writes crafted USD data past the end of an allocated data structure because input validation does not enforce its bounds. Exploitation requires a user or application to process the file, and failure can crash the current process or execute code in its context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
