Code execution via crafted Samba share mount
Published Apr 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Logic error in NetFSFramework in Apple macOS before 11.2 allows local users to execute arbitrary code by mounting a crafted Samba share. Apple has not published the state transition or data-handling operation that fails when NetFSFramework processes the crafted share. Exploitation requires a user-level context able to mount the attacker-controlled share and yields code execution with that user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
