Device crash via LLDP packet memory leak
Published Jul 8, 2021 · Updated Nov 7, 2024
Memory leak in the LLDP implementation of Cisco Video Surveillance 7000 Series IP Cameras before 2.12.4 allows attackers to crash devices. Ingress handling incorrectly processes crafted LLDP packets and fails to release memory, causing continuous consumption until the camera crashes and reloads. Exploitation requires no authentication but does require Layer 2 adjacency within the camera's broadcast domain, and the bounded impact is a service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
