CVE-2021-1585Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Code execution via unsigned package loading

Published Jul 8, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Code injection in Cisco ASDM before 7.18.1.152 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to execute code through the ASDM Launcher. The Launcher accepts ASDM code exchanged with an ASA device without properly verifying its signature, so intercepted traffic can substitute attacker-controlled code. Exploitation requires a network interception position and user initiation of a Launcher connection, and injected code runs with the Launcher's user privileges.
