CVE-2021-1569Network attack vector

Authentication information disclosure via crafted XMPP messages

Published Jun 16, 2021 · Updated Nov 7, 2024

Improper input validation in Cisco Jabber for Windows before 14.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to disclose authentication information. The XMPP message-processing path fails to validate crafted content and returns sensitive authentication information to another system. Exploitation requires access to the target's XMPP server and permission to message the target; phone-only and Team Messaging modes are unaffected.
