Root command execution via crafted management requests
Published May 22, 2021 · Updated Nov 8, 2024
Command injection in Cisco Business Wireless Access Point Software allows remote authenticated users to execute root commands via HTTP requests. The web-based management interface inadequately validates user-supplied request data before passing it into privileged command processing; Cisco has not disclosed the affected handlers or parameters. Valid administrative credentials are required, and successful exploitation runs arbitrary commands with root privileges on the access point.
