Unauthenticated fabric outage via TCP queue wedge
Published Aug 25, 2021 · Updated Nov 7, 2024
Denial of service in Cisco NX-OS System Software in ACI Mode allows remote attackers to make Generation 1 leaf switches unavailable. Ingress TCP traffic sent to a specific port on a configured SVI makes a packet queue retain network buffers without processing them until the queue wedges. No authentication is required; critical control-plane traffic is then dropped, removing leaf switches from the fabric until a manual power cycle restores them.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
