CVE-2021-1518Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unsanitized REST commands

Published Jul 22, 2021 · Updated Nov 7, 2024

Code injection in Cisco Firepower Device Manager On-Box Software allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary operating-system code. Specific REST API commands insufficiently sanitize fields from crafted HTTP requests before processing them in code-execution paths. Valid low-privileged credentials and network access to the management API are required, and successful exploitation runs code on the underlying operating system.
