CVE-2021-1478Network attack vector

Authenticated service interruption via exposed JMX port

Published May 6, 2021 · Updated Nov 8, 2024

Improper access control in the JMX component of Cisco Unified Communications Manager allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service. An unsecured TCP/IP port accepts access that restarts the JMX process instead of restricting the operation to an authorized management path. Network reachability to the exposed port and valid authentication are required, and successful exploitation stops the affected JMX service.
