CVE-2021-1474Network attack vector

Authenticated CSV formula injection via audit log export

Published Apr 8, 2021 · Updated Nov 8, 2024

CSV formula injection in Cisco Umbrella Admin audit log export allows authenticated remote attackers to inject formulas via crafted log entries. The export feature fails to neutralize formula elements in CSV fields, so spreadsheet applications execute attacker-controlled formulas when a user opens the file. Exploitation requires authenticated access and a user opening the exported CSV; consequences include data manipulation or code execution on that user's computer.
