CVE-2021-1436

Sensitive-file disclosure via CLI path traversal

Published Mar 24, 2021 · Updated Nov 8, 2024

Path traversal in the Cisco IOS XE SD-WAN CLI allows local users with administrative privileges to read arbitrary device files. The CLI insufficiently validates a crafted request before resolving its user-supplied path, allowing traversal outside the intended directory. Administrative CLI access and the non-default SD-WAN feature must both be present; successful exploitation exposes device files.
