Improper access control in APs managed by Cisco Wireless LAN Controller 8.10 allows local users to gain root privileges through SSH. The AP SSH management interface inadequately checks file operations during configuration changes, permitting modification of device files. Exploitation requires AP SSH management, locally defined AP credentials, and network administrator access; success grants root-equivalent privileges.
