CVE-2021-1415Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unvalidated SNMP engine ID

Published Apr 8, 2021 · Updated Nov 8, 2024

Command injection in Cisco RV340-series router firmware before 1.0.03.21 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The JSON-RPC handler passes the user-controlled usmUserEngineID property to a system call without validation, enabling command injection. Exploitation requires authenticated access to the web-based management interface and runs commands with the privileges of the www-data service account.
