Root command execution via crafted HTTP requests
Published May 6, 2021 · Updated Nov 8, 2024
Command injection in Cisco Small Business WAP firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute root commands through crafted HTTP requests. The web-based management interface improperly validates user-supplied input before incorporating it into device commands. Valid administrative credentials are required; successful exploitation runs arbitrary commands as root, exposing device data and permitting configuration changes without a reported availability impact.
