Buffer overflow in Cisco IP Phone 68xx, 78xx, and 88xx firmware allows adjacent attackers to execute code or reload phones via crafted packets. The Cisco Discovery Protocol and LLDP handlers process packet fields without required bounds checks, allowing malformed input to corrupt memory. Exploitation requires access to the phone's Layer 2 broadcast domain and an enabled affected protocol; both protocols are enabled by default on most models.
