Improper signature verification in Cisco IOS XE Software allows local users to execute unsigned code during fast-reload boot. The fast-reload boot routine insufficiently validates parameters in a stored configuration file before executing it. Privileged CLI access is required to tamper with that file; successful exploitation bypasses secure-boot image verification at boot time.
