Authenticated file disclosure and service interruption via XXE
Published Apr 29, 2021 · Updated Nov 8, 2024
XXE injection in Cisco Firepower Threat Defense before 6.5.0.5 and 6.6.0 through 6.6.2 allows remote authenticated users to read files. The FDM REST API parser resolves attacker-supplied external entity references in certain XML files instead of disabling external entities. Valid FDM REST API credentials are required; successful requests disclose sensitive local files or partially interrupt device service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
