Authenticated rogue manager registration via certificate validation
Published Feb 4, 2021 · Updated Nov 8, 2024
Improper certificate validation in Cisco UCS Central Software before 2.0(1m) allows remote authenticated users to register a rogue UCSM via an adjacent HTTP request. The registration API accepts a crafted request without properly validating the UCSM certificate, allowing the rogue manager to access UCS Central data and UCSM inventory. Exploitation requires authenticated access from an adjacent network position; the documented impact is data and inventory disclosure, with no reported configuration alteration or service interruption.
