Stack-based buffer overflows in Cisco Small Business RV router firmware allow remote authenticated users to run root code or reload devices. The web-based management interface inadequately validates user-supplied data in crafted HTTP requests, allowing writes beyond stack buffers. Valid administrator credentials are required; the interface is always reachable from the LAN and reachable from the WAN only when remote management is enabled, and exploitation yields root execution or a device reload.
