Administrator-level root command execution via unvalidated HTTP input
Published Feb 4, 2021 · Updated Nov 8, 2024
Command injection in Cisco Small Business RV router firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root via HTTP requests. The web management interface passes improperly validated request input into command execution; Cisco does not identify the affected handler or parameter. Valid administrator credentials are required, and access is always available from the LAN but reaches the WAN only when remote management is enabled.
