Service interruption via packet-triggered memory exhaustion
Published Feb 4, 2021 · Updated Nov 8, 2024
Resource exhaustion in Cisco IOS XR Software allows remote attackers to crash enf_broker through crafted ICMP or Telnet streams. Ingress packet processing allocates resources improperly for either protocol, leaking system memory until the process fails. IPv4 or IPv6 reachability is sufficient; the crash destabilizes the device and prevents traffic processing or forwarding.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
