Root command execution via device-template input
Published Jan 20, 2021 · Updated Nov 12, 2024
Command injection in Cisco SD-WAN vManage Software allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands as root. The web-based management interface fails to validate user-supplied device-template configuration data before using it in command execution. A valid vManage account and access to device-template configuration are required; exploitation grants root-level control of the vManage system.
