Unauthenticated root code execution via HTTP validation
Published Feb 4, 2021 · Updated Nov 8, 2024
Remote code execution in Cisco RV160/RV260 router firmware before 1.0.01.02 lets remote attackers run root code via crafted HTTP requests. The web-based management interface fails to properly validate HTTP request data, allowing crafted requests to reach privileged processing paths. No authentication is required, and successful exploitation can fully compromise the appliance; Cisco reported no public malicious use.
