Data interception and alteration via missing certificate validation
Published Jan 20, 2021 · Updated Nov 12, 2024
Improper certificate validation in Cisco Data Center Network Manager before 11.5(1) allows remote attackers to intercept sensitive data. DCNM accepts a crafted X.509 certificate without validating its trust, allowing interception of communications with connected clients. Exploitation requires an unauthenticated attacker able to present the crafted certificate; successful attacks can view and alter client information maintained by DCNM.
