Root code execution or reload via crafted requests
Published Jan 13, 2021 · Updated Nov 12, 2024
Input validation flaws in Cisco RV Series management interfaces allow remote authenticated users to execute root code or reload devices. The web interface processes crafted HTTP requests without adequately validating user-supplied input; the affected handler is undisclosed. Valid administrator credentials are required, and WAN reachability additionally requires the disabled-by-default remote-management feature.
