Root command execution via crafted management requests
Published Jan 13, 2021 · Updated Nov 12, 2024
OS command injection in Cisco Small Business RV110W, RV130, RV130W, and RV215W routers allows remote authenticated users to execute code as root. The web-based management interface improperly validates values in crafted HTTP requests, allowing injected operating-system commands to run with root privileges. Valid administrator credentials and reachability over the always-enabled LAN interface, or the disabled-by-default WAN remote-management interface, are required.
