CVE-2021-1141Network attack vector

Root command execution via malicious HTTP requests

Published Jan 20, 2021 · Updated Nov 12, 2024

OS command injection in Cisco Smart Software Manager Satellite 5.1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute root commands. The web UI insufficiently validates attacker-controlled values in malicious HTTP requests before they reach operating-system command execution. Cisco has not identified the affected endpoint or parameter; a valid account is required, and successful exploitation runs commands as root.
