Root command execution via malformed HTTP requests
Published Jan 20, 2021 · Updated Nov 12, 2024
Command injection in Cisco Smart Software Manager Satellite 5.1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The web UI insufficiently validates input in malicious HTTP requests before passing it to operating-system command execution. A valid account and network access to the management interface are required, and successful exploitation grants full control of the appliance.
