Denial of service in Cisco Video Surveillance 8000 Series IP Cameras before 1.0.9-8 allows attackers to reload them via a crafted Layer 2 packet. The Cisco Discovery Protocol implementation omits required checks while processing untrusted protocol messages, causing an unexpected camera restart. Exploitation requires Cisco Discovery Protocol to be enabled and Layer 2 access to the same broadcast domain; the consequence is loss of service during the reload.
