Service interruption via unvalidated escape array index
Published Oct 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper input validation in NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Windows allows local users to interrupt service through a crafted escape request. The nvlddmkm.sys kernel-mode DxgkDdiEscape handler fails to adequately validate an array index supplied through the request. Exploitation requires local unprivileged access and a specific, undisclosed configuration; the resulting denial of service affects availability only.
