CVE-2021-1098

Data tampering via reuse of unreleased resources

Published Jul 21, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper resource release in NVIDIA vGPU Software 8.x before 8.8, 11.x before 11.5, and 12.x before 12.3 allows guest OS users to tamper with data. During a guest-initiated driver unload, the Virtual GPU Manager fails to release resources and later permits operations that reuse them. A malicious guest is required; reused resources can expose or alter data and can interrupt service.
