CVE-2021-1085

Privilege escalation via post-validation shared-memory write

Published Apr 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

A race condition in NVIDIA vGPU Software 8.x before 8.7, 11.x before 11.4, and 12.x before 12.2 allows local users to escalate privileges. The Virtual GPU Manager permits a shared-memory value to be changed after validation and then acts on the altered data. Low-privileged local access to a vGPU host is required; exploitation also permits service interruption and limited, attacker-uncontrolled information disclosure.
