Information disclosure or service interruption via pointer dereference
Published Jan 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Pointer dereference in NVIDIA Virtual GPU Manager 8.0 through 8.5 and 11.0 through 11.2 allows local users to disclose information or interrupt service. The vGPU plugin converts an untrusted value into a pointer and dereferences it without establishing that the resulting address is valid. Low-privileged local access is required; NVIDIA does not specify whether denial of service stops the plugin, a guest, or the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=Version 8.x (prior to 8.6) and version 11.0 (prior to 11.3)
